Hello iBex User

We are reaching out to you directly as the creators and providers of your business software. You may not have known, but you have been using our amazing product called iBex for your reservation management and/or channel management.

Why are we contacting you?

Your iBex account has previously been supported by a company called Caterbook, who have been reselling our iBex software under their own brand. We have been forced to terminate their reseller agreement. Caterbook may have misinformed you that your iBex account is at risk of being terminated.

We are reaching out to you directly to let you know that there is no need to panic.

We will continue to provide you with access to iBex. We want to reassure you that your iBex account is not going anywhere, and you have been misinformed by Caterbook. Your bookings, records, and connections remain in place and will continue to operate seamlessly. As the master provider of iBex software, we are more than happy to provide and support your iBex account directly.

Who are we?

Seekom was founded in New Zealand in 2002 to provide cloud based solutions for the burgeoning online accommodation market. iBex is the flagship product of Seekom; a very forward-thinking and progressive software solution in the accommodation industry.

Over the past 17 years Seekom has continued to expand, evolve, and advance the system into one of the leading software solutions. Our Seekom team is now 24 members strong, and is growing fast. iBex is currently being used by over 2,000 properties throughout 24 countries.

If you would like to continue with using iBex please confirm your details below and we will provide a quote for the use of iBex with Seekom. Before 1 April you will be asked to accept our Terms and Conditions.

What are the advantages?

What about GDPR Compliance?

You may have concerns about how you can ensure you are GDPR compliant now that iBex is being provided by an organisation outside the EU. This is actually not a problem as we committed to ensure iBex was GDPR compliant and would remain so going forward. Privacy by Design

We’re proud of the fact that Seekom was designed and built with privacy in mind. Our ‘privacy by design’ approach keeps end-user privacy at the center of what we do. This has made our job of being GDPR compliant relatively pain free. This is great news for you as this makes your requirement to be GDPR much simpler. We have done 90% of the heavy lifting, but you will still need to do the following if you wish to continue using iBex from 1st April 2019.

Actions for You

To ensure you are compliant you will need to take these steps:

  1. Accept our updated Terms & Conditions which includes acceptance of our Data Processing Agreement.  You will be prompted to do this within iBex over the next couple of days.  Note you will be able to skip past this a few times, so this won’t stop you working.

  2. Review your Privacy Policy on your website, and potentially add the paragraphs we suggest here if necessary
    Seekom will complete this action for managed website customers.

  3. Review our Compliance section on our website for further info.

The foreseeable future?

Going forward, we are planning on expanding even further by providing local UK support.

As we are now using Amazon Web Servers, we are looking to move Europe based customers to infrastructure hosted in the UK. This will have advantages in much improved performance and simplifies data privacy concerns.

Our engineering team is expanding and is constantly working hard on new features and enhancements to improve your business performance.

What are the costs?

Going forward, you will have a direct contract with Seekom to provide iBex. Our standard Terms & Conditions are available here. You will be sent a monthly invoice directly from Seekom for the lease of our iBex software.

The good news our direct pricing will likely be cheaper for you.
